Awesome packaging from Panasonic.
In-ear headphones, like underwear, present a problem to vendors and consumers: there’s no good way to try them out before you buy them, without sharing unsavory parts of your body with others by proxy. So what do packaging designers — the only ones who can do an effective job of selling you things you can’t test drive — do? One of three things, generally: they keep it boring (Etymotic, Sennheiser, COBY), hit you over the head with xtreme street grafix (Skullcandy, WESC) or they get creative. Panasonic’s RP-HJE 130 earbuds exist only in award-winning-designer-concept-land, but we can guarantee you our moms would just flip if they saw them on the shelf at Target, and they’d probably end up in our Christmas stockings no matter what they sounded like.
Harsh but fair. University websites come under scrutiny :)
I’d like to add, that not all of them are like that.

We (@mnwork) get lots of lovely emails about us and our work – which is of course very nice indeed. But we also get the occasional piece of hate mail, like the one that arrived in our inbox this morning. Dispensing with any kind of conversational formalities it simply said “C**TS” - without the self…

My first phone conversation with a new client:
Client: ”I love your rough concept! And your estimate’s very reasonable, too — oh, I’m so glad I found you. I’ll be the best client ever, I promise!”
Me: ”Great! Glad you like it.”
Client: ”Do you want to have babies?”
Me: “Pardon?”
Client:…
Truly gobsmacking! :-D
This is my latest piece of work for Ebuyer.com. It’s plastered on the side of 300 buses in the Manchester area.
I was a little worried as to how they would look. It’s difficult to see how something that when printed is 13 foot long is going to look on a piece of A3 paper.
But, I do have to say, I like them, a lot. The colours look great and I think the typography is at just the right size.
Pat on the back for me..
I work in online marketing and it’s no secret that I actively blog, tweet and check in on Foursquare. It’s not just my profession - it’s fun. Social media is largely responsible for some of my closest friendships. I’ve never felt unsafe participating and generally…
The new Magic Mouse from Apple can be used ‘either in place of a mouse, or together with one’. Is the end in sight for a traditional mouse?
From Mashable:
The Magic Trackpad is designed to work with your Mac desktop computer, and it uses the same multitouch technology as the MacBook Pro. It “supports a full set of gestures, giving you a whole new way to control and interact with what’s on your screen,” claims Apple’s product description. It connects with your Mac via Bluetooth, and it’s intended to be use either in place of a mouse, or together with one. It comes as a standalone accessory and it costs $69.

Great advice from Thomas Fuchs. I had my own run in with CSS3 related hardware acceleration some time ago; a bit odd, that everyone’s trying to figure out, how this beast really works (open standard, implementation’s mind-boggling) — hope to see some solid articles coming out soon with additional test-cases.
I wish I was better at photography :(
