BNP Near Me?

I loved the release of BNP member data the other day.

How someone managed to take that text file and convert it into a google map mash-up in half a day is very impressive. Have a look at how many members live in your postal district.

November

No sun – no moon!
No morn – no noon -
No dawn – no dusk – no proper time of day.
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member -
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! -
November!

I think that says it all, a great poem by Thomas Hood (1789-1845).

Is it the end for Last.fm?

Over the last week I’ve seen one website take the Internet by storm. Is it the end for Last.fm?

Grooveshark is the newcomer to the field of online music streaming. In my opinion they have a better user interface and it is much easier to use.

It is designed with the iPod generation in mind, slick web 2.0 styles in consistent with branding from Apple. Last.fm recently rebranded, although I like the design more than the previous, I don’t think they took it far enough.

Blog Action Day – Make Poverty History

Today is Blog Action Day, a day where bloggers around the world participate to spread one simple message – ‘Make Poverty History’.

In time like these, with the dreaded CC going on you can help yourself whilst helping others. Until recently I would walk past second hand shops without even blinking, but after one day taking the plunge and exploring the depths of our local Oxfam shop I found that there were a wealth of goodies on offer. From t-shirts (some which still have the tags on) to some classic records that sound great through my new LP player.
